Ensemble 212 is pleased to announce our 2012-13 Annual Young Artist Competition for instrumentalists and vocalists. The instrumental competition is open to piano, strings, woodwinds, and brass.
To honor the 200th Anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, the vocal competition will consist of arias by Verdi and/or Wagner for all voice types. Two overall winners of the competition (one instrumental and one vocal) will perform with Ensemble 212 at our 5th Annual concert at Merkin Concert Hall - Kaufman Center on Sunday May 12, 2013.
Objective: To showcase outstanding young instrumentalists and vocalists from the greater New York metropolitan area by providing opportunities to perform as a soloist with a professional orchestra.
The judges for the final round will be for the competition will be pianist/opera coach David Leighton and retired New York Philharmonic violinist Michael Gilbert.

| Preliminary Round: | Submit completed application and audio or video recording along with $75.99 application fee at Musiccas.com by Friday, March 22, 2013 |
| Final Round: | Thurssday, March 28, 2013 at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc. from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM |
| Performance: | Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Merkin Concert Hall - Kaufman Center at 8:00 PM |

Congratulations to cellists Noah Lee, the Grand Prize Winner of the Ensemble 212 2012-13 Young Artist Competition, and Yun Han the alternate winner in place of the vocal winner.
On behalf of the judges we would like to thank all the contestants for participating in this year's competition. The level of playing was very high and everyone is to be commended for their efforts.
