Ensemble 212 is pleased to announce two competitions this season as part their annual Young Artist Competition Series. The winner of each competition will perform with Ensemble 212 during the 2009-10 season.

Violin Competition
Piano Competition

Repertoire:

Violin (deadline October 1, 2009):

•	Felix Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64

Piano (deadline December 31, 2009):

•	Frédéric Chopin: Concerto No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 11 or
•	Frédéric Chopin: Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, Op. 21 or
•	Robert Schumann: Concerto in A Minor, Op. 54

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

•	be under the age of 18
•	be a resident of the New York Metropolitan area OR enrolled in an elementary, junior/senior high school, or any music school or pre-college program located in New York City. College students under 18 ARE eligible.

Competition Procedures:

Preliminary Round:
12 finalists will be selected based on their recorded application.

Final Round:
Applicants selected for the final round will perform a 15-minute excerpt selected by the jury with a piano accompaniment.
