Young Artist Competition series


The Young Artist Competition series was initiated in 2006 as an integral part of Ensemble 212's dedication to providing performance opportunities for outstanding young musicians from the greater metropolitan New York area. Each season, Ensemble 212 rotates the age and categories of vocalists and instrumentalists for each competition. Ensemble 212 is pleased to announce the following categories for the 2009–10 Young Artist Competition series. This season will feature:

age 18 & under
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64.
Winner to perform on November 7, 2009

Piano (click here for more information)
age 18 & under

choice of:
Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 11 OR
Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, Op. 21 OR
Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 54.
Winner to perform in February 2010

The applicants will submit CDs as a preliminary round and perform live for the final round. The winners will perform with Ensemble 212 during the 2009-10 season.
