
A five-time concerto soloist with orchestras including Brevard
Summer Festival Orchestra and New York City's Bach Society, Sasha
Gee
Enegren enjoys exploiting the extroverted side of bassoon. Ms. Enegren
is also an avid chamber musician, which is evidenced by her frequent
performances with many Woodwind Quintets, including two and four-year
residencies in North Carolina and New York, respectively. Beyond
quintet, Ms. Enegren has collaborated with musicians in other chamber
combinations, including Elliot Carter's Quartet for winds and Mozart
Piano Quintet; Extensive training includes coaches Bil Jackson of
Aspen, Barbara Oldham of the Quintet of the Americas, and Judith
Mendenhall of New York City Ballet.
As an orchestral musician, Ms. Enegren has performed under the
batons of Otto Werner Müller, David Effron, Benjamin Zander,
and Edwin
Outwater. In New York City she has been seen performing at Carnegie
Hall's Weill Recital Hall and Isaac Stern Auditorium, Alice Tully
Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and Symphony Space. Active freelancing
performances include: Ensemble 212, Amato Opera Company Orchestra,
92nd Street Y Repertory Orchestra, National Festival Orchestra,
and
Camerata Notturna. Currently, Ms. Enegren is taking a leave of
absence
from Manhattan School of Music as part of the Master of Orchestral
Performance Program where she studies with Patricia Rogers to study
in
Los Angeles with Richard Beene at The Colburn School. |
