
Hee-Guen Song, violinist, has been a soloist with the Oberlin
Orchestra and Nova Vista Symphony Orchestra. She has played at
Paul Hall, Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, and Weill Recital
Hall at Carnegie Hall. Also as an active chamber musician, she
has played at The Chamber Music Society at Yale and she has participated
in Yellow Barn music festival and Taos music festival where she
worked and played with many renowned musicians. Ms. Song plays actively
in New York area as a member of Helix Contemporary Ensemble, Raritana
Early Music Ensemble, and Asian Artists & Concerts. Ms. Song
won first prize in the Kingsville International Competition and
was a prizewinner in the Irving M Klein International Competition,
and in 2003, she was a prizewinner at the Henryk Szeryng International
Violin competition in Mexico. A native of Korea, she has studied
at Oberlin Conservatory, The Juilliard School and Yale School of
Music. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts
degree at Rutgers University. Her principal teachers have
included Arnold Steinhardt, Peter Oundjian, Masao Kawasaki and
Roland and Almita Vamos. |
