
Australian cellist Rachael Tobin is a Masters student at the Mannes
College of Music, where she studies with Marcy Rosen. Before coming
to New York, Rachael studied in London with Colin Carr and Philip
Sheppard at the Royal Academy of Music. Rachael has received critical
acclaim in major London and Australian newspapers for her solo performances,
and was loaned a Stradivarius cello by the Royal Academy of Music
during her final year of study. Rachael's prizes and awards include
the Associated Board of the Royal School's of Music scholarship to
the Royal Academy of Music, The Macklin Bursary, a Centenary Medal
for service to The Arts, and awards from the Australian Music Foundation
and the Tait Memorial Trust. Rachael's solo performances include
giving the opening concert of the Park Lane Group's New Year Series
in the Purcell Room and concertos with The London Soloists Chamber
Orchestra as part of the 'Genius of the Violin Festival'. In December
Rachael will perform as a soloist with the Mannes Symphony Orchestra. |
